With the main goal of providing choices to our members, in 2014 Farmers Alliance started interviewing seed companies in order to decide what seed offering we were going to have available to our members. After meeting with several seed companies and learning how they operated and what they had to offer to our members, Farmers Alliance made the decision to become a Beck’s seed dealer. Partnering with Beck’s was a simple choice after learning that their business model is very similar to Farmers Alliance, meaning that their main focus is on the farmer and not on selling specific seed products that make them more money. We can say that with certainty, because they were the only seed company that didn’t incentivize their dealers to sell traited products over conventional products. This allows us to keep our focus on placing the right products, on the right acres, regardless of the technology.
Beck’s – Farmers At Heart® – revolutionized the customer seed buying experience by remaining true to a foundation built on faith, family, and farming. Founded in 1937, Beck’s appreciates the farmers who have helped them become the largest family-owned retail seed company and the third largest seed brand in the United States. The Beck family is now in its fifth generation of family members who work in the business to honor God and help farmers succeed. The Beck family and team of employees help farmers achieve success from generation to generation through authentic customer experiences, product diversity, seed quality, and performance. With a home office located in Atlanta, Ind., Beck’s serves farmers throughout the Midwest and Mid-South. For more information about Beck’s Superior Hybrids, Inc., visit www.beckshybrids.com. Eric started in the Ag Input Supply business in 1995 at Mid-Ohio Chemical in Botkins, after graduating from Waynesfield-Goshen Schools. He eventually left for Auglaize Provico/Advanced Agri Solutions to take on a Manager’s Position for 3 of their retail facilities. Eric wished to continue his passion for Agriculture when he, and his wife Kelli, started their own family business, Farmers Alliance, in 2008.
